Work has started on $46m, 25-kilometre water transmission network

Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) has announced that work has started on its project to build a 25-kilometre water transmission network across the emirate.

The AED170m ($46m) project will involve connecting 17 locations with main transmission lines to increase flow and ensure reliable supply to meet the current and future demands for water.

The project will involve installing glass-reinforced epoxy water pipelines in a three-part project. The first part will involve installing a 1,200mm water transmission pipe that runs from Al-Aweer through to Al-Quoz. The second part will involve the installation of a 600mm water main-transmission pipeline from Al-Khail Road to Sheikh Zayed road.

The final part of the project will involve installing a 900mm pipeline from Sheikh Zayed Road through to Palm Jumeirah.
