Work is under way on the second phase of the junction between Ittihad Road (E11) and the Umm al-Quwain-Falaj al-Mualla road in the UAE. The project started in February.
The contractor is currently drilling foundational piles.
The total cost of the project is AED150m ($40.8m). About 50 per cent of this covers the main bridge, with another 30 per cent for ramps.
Kuwaits Combined Group Contracting Company are carrying out a AED111m contract for the upgrade.
Work is due for completion in September 2016.

Abu Dhabis Idroesse Infrastructure is the consultant. The client is the Ministry of Public Works (MOPW).
The MOPW currently has AED1bn of road projects under execution. It plans to carry out AED12bn of road schemes over the next 15 years.
