WorleyParsons wins Omani engineering contract

06 February 2008

Australia’s WorleyParsons has won the contract to provide Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) with in-house engineering support services.

Under the terms of the five-year deal, estimated to be worth up to $30m, WorleyParsons personnel will be seconded to PDO’s Muscat headquarters where they will work on the front-end engineering and design elements of PDO’s future projects (MEED 4:5:07).

The projects will include gas compression, sweetening and dehydration units, water injection and disposal, steam and polymer injection, oil and gas pipelines, and power distribution systems.

About 80 WorleyParsons staff will be seconded to PDO. The company won a similar, albeit much larger contract, to provide in-house project management services to Kuwait Oil Company in 2007 (MEED 19:10:07).
