Zain subsidiary expands African network

Celtel, the African subsidiary of Kuwaiti mobile operator Zain, has announced the expansion of its One Network service to six new countries.

Burkina Faso,Chad,Malawi,Niger,NigeriaandSudanwill now join the network, which already includes theRepublicofCongo, the Democratic Republic of Congo,Gabon,Kenya,TanzaniaandUganda.

The extension of the network will allow users to make and receive calls at local rates across 12 countries. The network was first launched in September 2006.
