Biography: Zaki Sabbagh is CIO at Saudi Arabia’s Zamil Industrial Investment Company, where he manages a team of about 80 people. Sabbagh has restructured the group’s IT functions, consolidating all of its global IT departments into one and implementing a shared services model that provides an IT platform across the entire organisation.

He began his career as an engineering programmer at Zamil Steel in 1994. Later he was promoted to IT manager and relocated to Egypt, where the firm had opened a new factory in 1999.

While in Egypt, Sabbagh established data centres and implemented an enterprise resource plan and in-house application localisation. He continued in this role until 2001 when he was promoted to his current position. Sabbagh has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Notre Dame University in Lebanon.
