Kent will be working with Canada’s Brandt Engineered Products, who won the $174 design, engineering, procurement, installation supervision and commissioning contract on the facility last December. The plant is located in Dammam’s second industrial city (MEED 09:12:07).
Construction of the plant is expected to be completed in 2009. It will have an initial capacity of 170,000 tonnes a year of seamless pipes for use in oil and gas wells.
