Adnoc Gas has announced operations are continuing safely across its asset base, after recent missile and drone attacks by Iran on facilities owned by its parent Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc Group).
“Following debris falling near certain facilities, inspections confirmed no injuries and no impact to core processing integrity,” Adnoc Gas, the gas processing business of Adnoc Group, said in a disclosure to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) on 23 March.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office had earlier in the day announced debris resulting from the interception of a ballistic missile by the UAE air defence systems had fallen in the Al-Shawamekh area of Abu Dhabi emirate, causing minor injuries to an Indian national. The statement did not mention any impact on Adnoc Group assets, and it is not clear if the incident referred to in the ADX filing by Adnoc Gas is the same or related.
“In response to ongoing shipping disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, the company has separately made temporary operational adjustments to production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and export traded liquids. The company is actively collaborating with customers and partners on a transaction-by-transaction basis to fulfil commitments wherever possible,” Adnoc Gas said in the disclosure.
“We remain committed to delivering shareholder value. Our balance-sheet strength and capital discipline support the resilience of the company. The company’s continued focus is on ensuring the safety of staff, contractors, partners, and operations while continuing to serve its customers,” it said in its filing.
The previous damage to an Adnoc Gas facility in the ongoing war between Iran and Israel-US took place on 19 March when the Habshan gas processing facility was hit by falling debris from Iranian missiles intercepted by the UAE air defence systems.
Following that incident, which also affected the Bab oil field development, Adnoc Group suspended operations at the Habshan gas facility. It remains unclear if operations have since resumed.
Separately, Adnoc Group’s Shah hydrocarbon field development and Ruwais industrial complex have also suffered similar drone attacks by Iran, as the UAE and other GCC states get embroiled in the conflict.
