What is the underlying concept of the Alma destination project?

The Alma destination began as a dream to restore the elegance and beauty of the ‘Bride of the Red Sea’, Jeddah.

This vision has manifested itself as a premier waterfront community spanning 3.125 million square metres, with a 12.5-kilometre (km) waterfront, and Saudi Arabia’s first central residential islands.

The landmark project also reflects Jeddah’s development, sustainability and cultural enrichment objectives. This synergy with the region’s goals has allowed us to seamlessly acquire government approvals and build cohesively with the natural environment.

What are its unique features?

Located along the Red Sea coast in northern Jeddah’s Obhur area, the Alma destination is a valuable addition to the real estate, hospitality and entertainment sectors of Jeddah.

The development features seven neighbourhoods, two distinct central islands and a waterfront canal vital for water circulation and ecosystem revival.

Its ideal location grants it a remarkable frontage along the Red Sea, amplifying the natural beauty of the region.

The project is poised to boost the city’s investment attractiveness and invigorate its economic vitality

A remarkable feature is its strategic position along north Jeddah’s natural urban expansion path. Three integrated resorts overlooking the Red Sea along with several stunning beaches, five marinas, a 16-garden greenery network, open spaces, public plazas, entertainment facilities and a 4.5km promenade linking the primary parks and communities within the area, will help transform the destination into a popular residential community and a prime tourist attraction.

Bustling commercial hubs, luxury hotels, retail and F&B outlets, and residential districts, along with its well-landscaped public spaces, utilities and transit connections, will all help enhance the quality of life available for residents and visitors.

How will it help transform Jeddah?

The project is poised to boost the city’s investment attractiveness and invigorate its economic vitality by offering a broad spectrum of opportunities as a leading community, waterfront attraction and tourism hub. It reinforces Jeddah’s commitment to sustainability by adhering to the most stringent standards of quality and environmental responsibility.

What is the present status of the project and its future outlook?

The Alma destination’s infrastructure work will conclude by late 2023. With ready-to-develop, state-of-the-art infrastructure, the Alma destination is currently welcoming investors in the tourism, residential, retail, hospitality and entertainment sectors to get involved.

With attractive investment packages and infinite opportunities, it is well-positioned to significantly enhance Jeddah’s diversity and economic vitality.

Inspired by Saudi Arabia’s quest for mixed-use development projects capable of enriching the quality of life for residents and visitors, the Alma destination is actively seeking like-minded developers and investors looking to make a significant impact on the kingdom’s future.

Our determination to realise these goals is evident through our sponsorship and participation at Cityscape Global 2023, the prominent international real estate event that recently took place in Saudi Arabia from 10-13 September.
