A380 update: Emirates gets its first Airbus A380

Emirates Airline took delivery of its first A380 plane today during a handover ceremony in Germany with Airbus. The plane, which will make it's inaugural flight from Dubai to New York on 1st August, has 489 seats - 14 first class suites, 76 business and 399 economy. It is one of three configurations that will eventually make up Emirates fleet of 58 A380s, making it the largest customer for the aircraft. To date, Airbus has 17 customers for the A380 super-jumbo, with 202 planes on order.
