Biography: El-Aref Law Office was established in 1942 in Lebanon and it opened a representative office in Iraq with local law firm, Alaf Attorneys & Consultants.

Based in the Kurdish city of Sulaimanyeh in northern Iraq, the practice covers investment projects, portfolio management, corporate law and intellectual property registration.

Alaf represents local and international clients, connecting them with the Iraq and Kurdistan governments, as well as ministers and civil servants. Alaf also works for international banks in the Kurdistan region and provides counselling and services for immigration law.

Alaf has a degree from Salaheddine University in Erbil and since 1999, he has been counsel for the Kurdistan Bar and a member of the Iraqi Bar Association. In 2000, Alaf obtained a certificate of Conflict Resolution from Columbia University in the US.
