New tourism project to be built in Western Region
Abu Dhabis Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) has invited contractors to prequalify for the construction of a hotel development in the emirates Western Region.
The project includes a 4-star hotel offering 100 rooms, a souk with retail units and restaurants, ten stand-alone lounges and staff accommodation.
The main contract works include concrete substructure, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works, interior fit-out works and external works with swimming pools and landscaping.
Interested companies must be UAE-registered with an Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development special category classification. Firms must also have a minimum annual turnover for construction activities of AED500m ($136.1m) in each of the past three years, and must have successfully completed three schemes each in excess of AED200m in the past five years.
Requests for prequalification must be submitted by 14 April.
TDIC is currently evaluating bids for the deal to build the Zayed National Museum on Saadiyat Island. It received bids in November last year for the contract.
Contractors are also preparing to submit bids on 8 May for the deal to build the Guggenheim museum on Saadiyat Island.
