Contractors line up for construction work on corporate building

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has issued tender documents for a contract to build its corporate headquarters building on Abu Dhabi Corniche.

Contractors are preparing to submit technical proposals at the end of October, with commercial bids due one month later at the end of November.

The project is adjacent to the current Adnoc headquarters at the intersection of the Corniche road and Bainunah street.

The scheme, designed as an iconic landmark for Abu Dhabi, includes an office tower, podium and atrium, basement parking areas, underground parking blocks, and an underground tunnel connecting the office tower with the underground parking block. The total built-up area is expected to be about 190,000 square metres.

The local Arabian Foundations has started work on the enabling works package. The architect is US-based HOK. Hill International, also of the US, is the project manager (MEED 9:8:09).
