Abu Dhabi revamps Gamco

09 November 2007
The Abu Dhabi government is expanding its interests in aviation maintenance and logistics by overhauling the aerospace maintenance and engineering group Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company (Gamco).

State-owned investment group Mubadala Development Company has re-launched Gamco as Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies, and will make a $500 million investment over five years to improve the company's facilities, adding several hangers.

'The company aims to provide total care for aircraft in maintenance, repair and overhaul, and will be seeking joint ventures and acquisitions in the engine and components industries,' says a Mubadala official. Gamco already provides maintenance services to Etihad.
