Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport (DoT) has delayed the selection of a preferred bidder for a $2.7bn highway project to the fourth quarter as evaluation continues, Reuters has reported. The department is evaluating bids for the 25-year concession to upgrade, finance, operate and maintain the 327km Mafraq-Ghweifat highway linking the UAE and Saudi Arabia. “It is still under evaluation for the benefit of the parties,” Abdulla Rashid al-Otaiba, DoT chairman said.
