

Project is part of a broader plan to attract 48 million visitors by 2022
Abu Dhabi-based developer Miral has invited contractors to submit bids for the contract to build an indoor arena on Yas Island.
The closing date for technical bids is 31 January and the deadline for commercial proposals is 8 March.
The project involves build an arena with about 15,000 seats that will be used to host events in a temperature controlled environment.
The lead consultant is Canadas WSP PB and the architect is the US HOK. The project manager is the UKs Faithful + Gould.
Miral is developing other projects on Yas Island as part of a broader plan to double visitor numbers to Yas Island to 48 million by the year 2022.
Most recently it formed a partnership with the US Seaworld Entertainment to develop a SeaWorld theme park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Mirals other assets on Yas Island include Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, and a Warner Bros theme park that is due to open in 2018. Yas Island is also home to Yas Marina Circuit, seven hotels, a golf course, a marina, and Yas Mall.
