Airline signs codeshare agreement with Serbian national carrier
The Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways is launching direct flights to Belgrade in Serbia.
The route will start from 15 June and is the result of a codeshare agreement between Etihad Airways and Serbia’s national carrier JatAirways. The agreement is still pending regulatory approval.
JatAirways will also place its code on a number of flights operated by Etihad Airways’ equity partner Airberlin.
Belgrade is the third of six new destinations to be offered by Etihad Airways in 2013. The airline has already launched a route to Washington DC. It will launch a route to Amsterdam in May. Routes to Sao Paulo, Brazil, Sanaa in Yemen and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam will also launch later this year.
The Yemen route will begin operations from 1 September, while the Brazil and Vietnam route will be operational from June and October respectively.
