Adma-Opco studies fresh prices

Revised commercial bids are under evaluationat Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (Adma-Opco)for the main package on the Sahil housing complex project on Das island (MEED 5:4:02; 20:7:01).

Six local companies submitted fresh prices. They are Arabian Construction Company, Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises, Al-Hamed Development & Construction, Target Engineering Construction Company, Al-Muraikhi General Contracting Companyand Pivot Engineering & General Contracting Company.

Estimated to be worth AED 165 million ($45 million), the 24-month package calls for the construction of a three-storey building to provide accommodation for staff. The selected contractor will also carry out infrastructure development, landscaping and related civil, mechanical and electrical works. Bidders have submitted a base price and an alternative price.

The local Al-Hamed Development was the low bidder in the original round of bidding. Its offer of AED 171.5 million ($47 million) was 2.4 per cent lower than the next quote of AED 175.8 million ($48 million) submitted by Al-Habtoor Engineering (MEED 5:4:02).

The Sahil development project is being carried out in at least three packages. Pivot Engineering is carrying out package 1 - demolition works, while a tender is due to be issued for the third package.

Estimated to be worth AED 18 million ($5 million), package 3 will be for the construction of a police headquarters building on the island.
