Joint venture confirms being awarded the $860m job for expansion of the Integrated Gas Development project

The LNG arm of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc LNG) has awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for phase 2 of the energy major’s Integrated Gas Development (IGD 2) to a joint venture (JV) of Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas and Abu Dhabi-based Target Engineering.

MEED previously reported that the JV was selected as the preferred bidder for the $860m contract.

The main scope of work relates to design, supply and construction of a gas plant on Abu Dhabi’s Das Island that will be able to process 245 million standard cubic feet a day.

Adnoc LNG has awarded the EPC contract on a lump sum turnkey basis to the JV, in which Tecnicas Reunidas is the leader with a participation share of 50 per cent.

The duration of the contract is 54 months and the JV has the option to extend its scope of work on the project, worth an additional $150m.

The full scope of the contract includes engineering, equipment and material supply, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of compression, drying and gas treatment units, as well as power generation and other auxiliary services.

The new facilities will be used to send low-pressure gas from the offshore gas fields in the vicinity of Das Island to Habshan, located onshore Abu Dhabi.

This project is Tecnicas Reunidas’ second on Das Island. Since 2015, the company has participated in the IGD programme through the contract awarded by Adnoc Gas Processing for the construction of the gas treatment plant in Habshan.
