Midstream unit will be handling the transportation of refined and petrochemical products from Borouge

Adnoc Logistics and Services, the shipping arm of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), has signed a contract with petrochemicals producer Borouge to take control of its container terminal operations in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi.

The five-year contract, awarded through a competitive bidding process, is the first deal signed between Borouge and Adnoc Logistics and Services as a new integrated entity, following the integration of erstwhile Adnoc shipping subsidiaries Irshad, Esnaad, and Adnatco into a single Adnoc operating company.

Under the terms of the contract, Adnoc Logistics and Services will carry out all handling operations of Borouge’s packed and palletised products and bulk loaded containers.

Adnoc Logistics and Services will handle up to 800,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) a-year for Borouge, a joint venture between Adnoc and Austria’s Borealis.

Adnoc Logistics and Services will be tasked to handle increased cargoes from Borouge, as the downstream complex ramps up production of refined and petrochemical products with the expansion of its capacity.
