The onshore arm of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc Onshore) has received new commercial bids for the revised scope of work on the second stage of the Asab full-field development second phase (Asab phase two, stage two) project.

Adnoc Onshore had extended the commercial bid submission date for the revised Asab phase two, stage two project from 3 March to 15 March. The previous commercial bid deadline was 25 February.

MEED previously reported that Adnoc Onshore had issued a notification to contractors in late January about its revisions to the scope of work on the project.

“Taking a look at the new scope document, it appears the changes have been made [by Adnoc Onshore] to reduce the overall cost of the project,” a source previously said.

The overall value of the project could now be less than $150m, down from the previous estimate of $175m, according to sources.

Contractors understood to have received invitations from Adnoc Onshore to bid for the revised scope of work on the project include:

Asab field modification project

Adnoc Onshore issued the expressions of interest for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for the Asab phase two, stage two project in April 2019.

The first round of commercial bids were submitted on 14 March last year, while technical bids were submitted in August 2020.

Following a detailed bid evaluation process, Adnoc Onshore began engaging with contractors with high In-Country Value (ICV) scores, offering them the opportunity to match the lowest price received for the project.

Abu Dhabi-based Emarat Aloula, now part of Ali & Sons Holding, started negotiations with Adnoc Onshore to meet the client’s target price, sources told MEED last year.

The original scope of work on the Asab phase two, stage two project covered modification works on three processing trains, replacement of gas compressors and laying flow lines and pipelines on the Asab field.

Abu Dhabi-based contractor Al-Asab General Transport & Contracting Establishment is performing EPC works on stage one of the project, as part of an estimated $150m contract awarded in November 2018.
