Agility joint venture wins US Air Force contract

09 July 2008
A joint venture led by Agility Defense & Government Services (DGS) has won four fuel-management contracts with the US Air Force worth $8.6m over five years.

The group, a subsidiary of Kuwait’s Agility Logistics, will operate and maintain secure aviation and ground fuel storage facilities at four US air bases in Asia, with one each in Guam and South Korea and two in Japan.

DGS is the majority shareholder in AFH Fuel Services, which includes the US companies Ferguson-Williams and Hammer.

The joint venture recently won a $7.7m, five-year contract to provide similar fuel services at US bases in Germany, Portugal and Turkey.

The awards follow a series of billion-dollar contract awards to Agility by US armed forces in recent months (MEED 28:05:08).
