Norway-based group wins $17m deal to supply surface equipment for Awali oilfield redevelopment
Bahrain’s Enerserv has awarded Aker Solutions a contract to supply 600 sets of surface wellheads and trees to the Awali oilfield.
Norway-based Aker said it will make the first delivery of 45 sets of wellheads and trees – equipment used to control the flow of oil – in June this year.
The contract, which is the first of its kind won by Aker in Bahrain, is worth $17m. Aker said it will deliver the surface products from its site in Batam, Indonesia.
Qatar’s Tatweer Petroleum is redeveloping the Awali field in Bahrain’s Southern Governate in a project worth about $1.5bn.
Oil production at Awali is expected to double in the first five years after the project’s execution to 75,000 barrels a day (b/d) and peak at more than 100,000 b/d.
