27 March 2008

The local Ahelia Switchgear Company is low bidder at KD2.8m ($7.4m) for a contract to build a substation for Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).

The low bid is marginally lower than the next best offer of KD3.1m ($11.5m) submitted by the local KCC Engineering & Contracting Company. Syed Hamid Behbehani is ranked third on price at KD3.2m ($11.9m).

The lump-sum engineering, procurement and construction contract covers the construction of an 11kV substation at the Magwa field, in central Kuwait. Two other local contractors priced the work.
