Al-Habtoor awarded Jebel Ali convention centre

The local Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises has been awarded the estimated AED1.8bn ($490m) contract to build a convention centre complex at Jebel Ali Free Zone.

Located on Sheikh Zayed road, the complex will include 22 meeting and conference rooms, exhibition halls and a 700-seat auditorium.
There will also be a 22-outlet food court, two restaurants and a fitness centre as well as 22 retail outlets and a 4,100-space car park.
It will also include a 322-room hotel, and two office towers.
It will have a total built-up area of about 400,000 square metres.
The local Arenco is the consultant. Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza) is the client.
