Al-Habtoor secures Abu Dhabi mixed-use development

The local Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises has been awarded the estimated AED1.3bn ($350m) contract to build a mixed-use development in Abu Dhabi.

The project, known as the Plot 9 hotel, residential and commercial complex, comprises a 40-storey hotel tower, a 25-storey tower containing serviced apartments, along with a 19-storey residential tower and an 18-storey office tower. The total built-up area exceeds 240,000 square metres.

Construction will start in February and will be completed in two stages, one in December 2009, and the other in July 2010.

The local United Holdings is the client.
