Al-Waab City, described by its backers Nasser Bin Khaled Holding as “a city within a city”, is a privately held mixed-use project being developed 10 kilometres from the corniche in Doha. Spread over more than 1.2 million square metres, it will contain housing, retail outlets, offices, health facilities, a culture centre and a five-star hotel. The first units should be delivered in July 2013, and all 273 villas by October 2014. Once the project is completed in the first quarter of 2015, Al-Waab City is expected to house more than 8,000 residents in over 2,000 homes.
