Australian mining firm says commercial production of copper and gold possible from site
Australia’s Alara Resources has made a substantial copper discovery at the Washihi copper and gold exploration project it is developing in Oman.
Recent drilling activities have resulted in positive indications that the site could support major production.
The exploration at Washihi is in the early stages, but Alara believes the deposits would support a 500,000 tonne-a-year mining and beneficiation facility to be built at the site.
Washihi is located about 125 kilometres south of Muscat.
