New country club will be located in Dubailand
Local contractor Alec has been awarded a AED100m ($27m) contract to build the new Dubai Country Club and associated facilities in Dubailand, which is located behind Arabian Ranches.
Alec was awarded the contract in late june, according to a sources involved with the project.
The club will include a health and fitness club, 12 tennis courts, three squash courts, a football field and a 1,700-square-metre swimming pool. The facilities will also include an indoor sports hall and a skate park.
The architect is South Africa’s DSA Architects International.
The client expects the contractor to break ground in four months and the construction work is expected to take eight months.
The development is being built to replace the old Dubai Country Club, which was forced to close about two and a half years ago to make way for the Meydan race course.
