Export volumes drop by 4.6 per cent
The volume of oil and gas exported from Algeria declined by about 4.6 per cent in the first half of 2015, compared with the same period last year, according to a report published by the countrys central bank.
The bank said the decline in export volumes had contributed to a 43.1 per cent decline in earnings, but did not give details on hydrocarbons volumes.
Revenues from energy exports were $18.1bn in the first half of 2015, down from about $32bn in the first half of 2014.
The fall in revenues has eroded Algerias foreign reserves, which fell by 11.1 per cent in the first six months of 2015, according to the central bank.
