Algeria invites bids for two power plants

Contractors to submit bids by 5 September

Algeria’s Société Algérienne de Production de l’Electricité (SPE) has invited bids from contractors to build two power plants.

The first project will be built at Ain Arnat in the wilayat of Sétif. The combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant will comprise two 400MW units.

The second project will also have a capacity of 800MW comprising two 400MW units. The CCGT will be built at Ras Djinet in the wilaya of Boumerdes in central Algeria.

Construction contracts for the two projects are being tendered separately. The chosen contractors will design, engineer, acquire equipment, supervise construction and start-up of the projects.

Bids will be evaluated in two phases – one technical and one commercial. The technical bids are to be submitted by 5 September for both projects.
