Biography: Ali al-Subaihin is the CEO of Saudi Arabia-based Tawuniya. He joined the firm in 1994. Prior to this, Al-Subaihin was general manager for finance and information services at Saudi Petrochemical Company (Sadaf) between 1977 and 1994.

He joined Sadaf after graduating with a degree in systems engineering from King Fahd University for Petroleum & Minerals in Dhahran. Al-Subaihin is also a board member for the state-owned Cooperative Real Estate Investment Company, and a board member of the health insurance portal Waseel.

Tawuniya was founded in 1986 and operates in three sectors: medical insurance; motor insurance; and property and casualty cover. In 2011, medical insurance formed the largest share of the company’s insurance activities, accounting for 57 per cent of total sales that year. Tawuniya is headquartered in Riyadh.
