Ali Salehabadi

Biography: Ali Salehabadi has been president of the SEO since December 2006.

The SEO is responsible for administration and supervisory duties relating to the Tehran Stock Exchange. Salehabadi has been working in capital markets since 2004, when he became manager of the Karaj local stock market in Iran. In 2006, he was appointed as secretary-general of the SEO, and later the same year, he took up his current position as president.

Salehabadi has a doctorate in financial management from Tehran University. Since 2003, he has been teaching at Tehran’s Imam Sadeq University. The SEO promotes innovation in Islamic products and has formed a Sharia committee to assess the compatibility of new products with Islamic law. Its board of directors are elected by the Securities and Exchange Council (SEC), to whom it reports.

Salehabadi also serves as a member of the SEC.
