Almabani General Contractors appoints new CEO

Joseph Daher was previously executive vice-president of operations for Saudi contractor

Saudi Arabia’s Almabani General Contractors has appointed Joseph Daher as the company’s new CEO.

Daher joined Almabani in 1979, and has held held several senior positions within the company before taking over as executive vice-president of operations in 2006. Prior to this, Daher was projects director for Almabani’s airport projects, which mainly included work for the General Authority for Civil Aviation (Gaca).

Almabani is currently working on several of the kingdom’s major infrastructure projects. The group is one of the main contractors on the Jeddah airport expansion and is part of the consortium, along with the US’ Bechtel, Athens-based CCC and Germany’s Siemens, that was awarded the $9.5bn contract to design and build lines 1 and 2 of the Riyadh metro.
