AMD is to phase out the ATI graphics brand name in 2010, saying it was "unnecessary" to have two brands, ZDnet has reported. Existing products in the market will not see a name change, but new products will be branded AMD Radeon and AMD FirePro, the company said. The chipmaker plans to offer both CPUs and GPUs combined in its forthcoming Fusion product, the first of which, codenamed Ontario, will feature two low-power "Bobcat" CPUs combined with a Radeon GPU.
