Marina development in Bahrain launched and set to start in 2015
The local Amlak Properties has launched the Bahrain Marina Development Project with construction work expected to start by the third quarter of 2015.
Expected to be complete by 2019, the mixed-use project will include a luxury hotel and serviced apartments along with freehold apartments and waterfront villas, a shopping mall and a recreational waterfront space with dining and retail spaces.
The project will span nearly 150,000 square metres covering the existing area of the current Marina Club. The yacht club will cover an area with the capacity of docking more than 300 boats.
Amlak is the real estate investment arm and wholly-owned subsidiary of the Social Insurance Organisation. The marina project will be the first development since the establishment of the company.
Amlaks mandate is to drive investment strategies for SIO. The team behind Amlak comes from a wealth of experience, the company said in a statement to the media.
