Figgins joined Dentons Muscat office in 2013 to lead the energy and projects team. Figgins has extensive experience in the oil and gas sector, having spent 12 years in-house with BP in the UK, Africa, the Caspian and the Middle East.

Figgins has worked on the Azerbaijan Shah Deniz giant gasfield project, and the related South Caucasus Pipeline, during construction, commissioning and transition to operations and through the early period of commercial sales in Georgia and Turkey. Figgins has also worked on BP’s upstream projects in Algeria, Angola and Egypt; and moved to Oman in 2008 to support the early production phase of BP’s world-class Khazzan Tight Gas Project.

Prior to joining Dentons, Figgins was general counsel with government-owned Oman Shipping Company SAOC where he set up the company’s legal department and was a member of the executive management team, advising the board of directors.

Figgins is experienced in advising on major capital projects and international transactions in emerging markets, through the full energy value chain, and in the construction, transport and infrastructure sectors.
