Apple Inc said it posted a 5.8% rise in revenue and a 1.5% gain in profit in the fourth quarter, sending its quarterly sales past $10bn for the first time. The company reported strong increases in sales of its Macintosh computers and iPhone cellphones in the fiscal quarter ended Dec 27.
