Qatar's first water-themed leisure destination, Aqua Park Qatar, is set for official opening tomorrow, Gulf Times has reported. The first phase of the 100,000sq m park, leisure and entertainment complex features a giant wave pool, a lazy river, an activity pool, slides complex, a family pool, an exotic village and a dry corner. Adjacent to the aqua park will be a 300,000sq m resort as well as a shopping complex, currently being built and is expected to be completed by June 2011. Kuwait-based Al Jazeera Entertainment Enterprises Co signed an agreement in December 2009 to manage the park for five years.
