Lebanese firm Arabian Construction Company wins contract for three buildings at Emaar Square in Jeddah

Saudi Arabia’s Emaar Middle East, a subsidiary of the UAE’s Emaar Properties, has awarded a construction contract to Lebanon’s Arabian Construction Company (ACC) to build part of the Emaar Square development in Jeddah.

ACC has won a contract to build three buildings as part of the Emaar Square development, which will be located within the Jeddah Gate area of the western city. The first buildings from the development are scheduled to be handed over to customers in 2016.

The contract is the latest of several major contracts awarded at the Jeddah Gate development.

In May 2013, Emaar Middle East awarded a contract to the local Azmeel Contracting & Construction Corporation to build three residential towers for the Abraj al-Hilal phase 2 of the Jeddah scheme.

The three towers will have 17 to 21 floors, with apartments ranging in size from 98 to 449 square metres. The towers will also contain amenities such as retail areas and outdoor swimming pools.

Emaar handed over units for the first phase of the Abraj al-Hilal project in late 2012. The Jeddah Gate development will cover a total area of 400,000 sq m, and is located close to the main railroad, which will link the two holy cities of Mecca and Medina to Jeddah.
