Aramco changes management structure

Saudi Aramco has promoted six executives to newly created vice-president roles as part of a regular review of its management structure.

The state-run oil firm has named Khaled al-Buraik as vice-president of Saudi Aramco affairs. His previous position was executive director.

Al-Buraik is also on the board of Sino Saudi Gas, a joint venture of Aramco and China's Sinopec, which is exploring for gas in the isolated Rub al-Khali (Empty Quarter).

Saudi Aramco bosses have promoted Dawood al-Dawood to vice-president for marketing, supply and joint venture co-ordination. He has been an executive director since September 2008.

Zuhair al-Hussain takes the newly created position of vice-president for drilling and workover after holding the executive director role.

Majid al-Mugla head project management after serving as executive director since January 2009.

Ahmad al-Saadi is vice-president for pipelines, distribution and terminal operations, with Saad al-Turaiki heading southern area oil operations after previously heading up the southern gas division.

Aramco promoted its former operations head Khalid al-Falih, to chief executive officer in November 2008 after the retirement of the long-serving Abdullah Jumah (MEED 3:11:08).
