Masterplan to be completed within two years
Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has selected US firm MWH Global to develop an integrated drainage masterplan for the country.
The masterplan will form a framework for investment in water and wastewater treatment, groundwater management, surface water and treated wastewater effluent infrastructure for the next 50 years.
It will focus on maximising water conservation and minimising wastage. Ashghal and MWH Global will firstly study various initiatives, which have been deployed elsewhere in the world.
MWH Global will work with public and private entities to form the masterplan, which will be completed within two years.
