Bahrain airport seeks firms for fuel facilities

18 November 2015

Prequalification submissions close on 9 December

The Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has invited firms to prequalify for three aviation fuel-related packages by 9 December.

The three packages are for an aviation fuel farm, fuel hydrant and a ground service equipment fuel station.

Prequalification submissions will be opened on 12 December, the first Thusday following the prequalification document submissions.

The BAC has received in late October bids from at least nine groups for the Bahrain airport terminal construction contract.

Bahrain’s airport is being expanded to accommodate rising passenger traffic. The number of passengers that passed through the airport in 2014 exceeded 8.5 million, which is twice its current capacity.

When completed, the expanded terminal will have an annual passenger capacity of 13.5 million.

Funding for the terminal expansion construction is provided by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD).
