The Al-Sahel Resort on Bahrain’s southwest coast has entered the final stages of construction.
“It will be complete early next year,” said Amin al-Arrayed, CEO of Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), in an interview with MEED. “The building is 80 per cent complete.”
Edamah, the real estate arm of Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat Holding Company, is the client for the project. The contractor completing the works is the local Nass Contracting. The local Charilaos Apostolides was previously working on the project.
The five-star resort is located on 1.25 kilometres of beach and has both room and villa-based accommodation. It will also feature entertainment and leisure components, including restaurants, water features and sports, a cinema, meeting and conference services, and sports and spa facilities.
Dubai-based Jumeirah Group will be the operator.
The resort is the central component of a larger development that includes a series of freehold residential developments in the immediate area and is close to the upcoming Bilaj Aljazayer development to the north.
