Barwa al Khor has launched the QR35bn ($10bn) Urjuan development at its Al-Khor project 50 kilometres north of Doha.
The 5.5 square-kilometre development will accommodate over 63,000 residents upon its completion by 2013. The residential area will comprise more than 24,500 housing units made up of hotel rooms, chalets, townhouses, villas and apartments. Other facilities include shopping malls, office towers and an 18-hole golf course.
Cansult Maunsell, part of US-based Aecom is the consultant. Barwa al-Khor is a subsidiary of local developer Barwa Real Estate.
