The projects were awarded in the two weeks up to 25 August
US prime contractor Bechtelawarded 31 reconstruction subcontracts in the two weeks up to 25 August under its $680 million US Agency for International Development (USAID) capital construction contract.
All but two of the contracts went to local contractors, with the remaining two going to US firms. Twenty-seven of the contracts are for the repair of schools. Bechtel has now awarded over 100 subcontracts under USAID’s Iraq reconstruction programme (MEED 15:8:03).
