12 September 2003

The deadline is now 22 September for the snow centre and west car park

The bid submission deadline has been extended by two weeks to 22 September for the estimated AED200 million ($54 million) snow centre and the west car park package on the proposed Mall of the Emirates, formerly known as Souk al-Nakheel in Dubai.

Bids are already under evaluation for the largest package on the development, covering the shopping mall. Nine local and international companies priced the estimated AED400 million ($109 million) package by the end-August deadline. The project manager is the UK’s Mace; the structural engineering consultant is Mott MacDonald, also of the UK. The client is the local Majid Al-Futtaim Group of Companies (MEED 29:8:03; 15:8:03).
