The consultant will advise on the Sitra causeway expansion
Bids are due on 23 September for the consultancy contract on the Sitra causeway expansion. Prequalifiers for the outline design and construction supervisor contract are understood to include Hyder Consulting and WS Atkins, both of the UK, and Denmark’s COWI.
The estimated BD 25 million ($65 million) project entails the replacement of the two existing bridges, widening the Sitra highway crossing and expanding the interchanges at either end of the causeway. The aim is to alleviate traffic congestion between Manama and Sitra (MEED 13:6:03).
