Bids due for Abu Dhabi mixed-use project

Bids are due to be submitted by 21 September for the contract to build a major mixed-use development in Abu Dhabi. The contract calls for the construction of six 15-26-storey towers and related works on a plot of land located behind the Intercontinental hotel at Khalidiya. Fourteen companies are prequalified to price the AED 300 million ($82 million), 21-month contract. The project manager is the US' Turner International; the consultant is the local Bainona Consulting Engineers. The client is the Abu Dhabi government.
