The deadline is 2 October and bids will be submitted by prequalified groups
Prequalified groups of local and international contractors are preparing to submit bids by 2 October for the American University of Cairo’s $300 million New Campus project.
The prospective bidders include: Besixof Belgium, with the local Orascom Construction Industries; Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC), with the local Misr Sons Development (Hassan Allam & Sons); South Korea’s Samsung Corporation; and Cyprus’ Joannou & Paraskevaides (J&P - Overseas).
The scope of works includes the construction of new teaching and residential facilities on a 260-acre site to the east of Heliopolis, at the heart of the planned New Cairo residential development. The project and construction manager is the US’ Fluor DanielInternational (MEED 18:7:03).
