Bids in for Abu Dhabi road consultancies

Abu Dhabi's Municipalities & Agriculture Department has received consultancy bids for two contracts covering highway and parking works, and has issued tenders for a road improvement scheme. The tenders are part of a major road upgrade programme planned by the department (MEED 31:3:06).
Abu Dhabi's Municipalities & Agriculture Department has received consultancy bids for two contracts covering highway and parking works, and has issued tenders for a road improvement scheme. The tenders are part of a major road upgrade programme planned by the department (MEED 31:3:06).

Bids have been submitted by five companies for roads serving a new industrial area to the west of Mussaffah.

The project involves the construction of external roads connecting the Mafraq-Tarrif highway to the main entrances of the extension of Abu Dhabi Industrial City.

The bidders are the UK's Maunsell, High-Point Rendel, also of the UK, US-based Parsons International, Lebanon's Khatib & Alami and the UK's Mouchel Parkman.

The municipality has also received bids for the design and supervision of various roads and parking facilities outside Abu Dhabi city. The project extends up to Seih Shueib in the north, Al-Khatim in the east and Hameem road in the west.

Companies have also been invited to bid by 19 June for a design consultancy services contract for the widening of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed al-Maktoum street on Abu Dhabi island.
